AMC is at a crossroads.
Although the cable network's successes in 2013 are hard to ignore — Breaking Badended its landmark run to critical raves and an astounding 400-plus percent growth in total viewers, and The Walking Deadremained TV's top-rated drama with a Season 4 premiere that drew 16 million sets of eyeballs — the network faced its share of setbacks. A resurrected third season of The Killing earned better reviews, but it was canceled (again) after failing to deliver an audience (it's since been revived again by Netflix). Worse, freshman drama Low Winter Sunwas utterly rejected by viewers despite being paired with Bad's successful final run.
